Videos of a downed Assad regime fighter jet were circulated on social media; they show a fighter jet downing after being shot during in Hama countryside battles.

Social media pages and users posted a video that has Amjad watermark, a media foundation affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), claiming that the video shows “shooting down a Russian military plane in Hama countryside.”

Others posted a video of activist Muath al-Shami standing by a crashed jet, claiming that it shows “shooting down a Russian fighter jet in Idlib.”

Verify-Sy checked the video; it turned out that it is not of the fighter jet that was shot down by HTS yesterday in Hama countryside; it was taken in 2018.

Amjad’s video is entitled “al-Sekkah”, which shows shooting a regime fighter jet in Hama countryside. The video of Muath al-Shami shows a regime crashed fighter jet that was shot down by opposition factions in Idlib countryside in 2018.

HTS-linked Ibaa news agency reported that an anti-aircraft missile hit a fighter jet in Hama countryside yesterday; Assad forces and Russia did not issue any statement regarding that.

A fighter jet was hit yesterday during Hama countryside battles and landed in key military airport Tayfur in Homs, field sources told Verify-Sy.
