Russian Sputnik Fabricates News about Killing Dozens 23 Armed Men in Idlib

Russian news agency Sputnik reported that ongoing clashes since Friday between members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Ahrar al-Sham Movement in Idlib’s Bellin village resulted in the death of 23 members from both sides.

The Russian agency claimed that the clashes erupted after the inhabitants of Bellin, of which many have joined Ahrar al-Sham, attempted to prevent HTS forces from arresting youth of the village after breaking into it.
Verify reporter in Idlib’s countryside conducted field visits to inspect the claim of the death of 23 of the two factions, and reached the conclusion that it is false news.
He explained that the clashes between two families, Suhaibar and Alloush, occurred last Saturday, where light and medium weapons were used. The clashes resulted in wounding two individuals who were hospitalized.
According to Verify reporter, an HTS security unit formed a cordon to prevent resuming the clashes and arrested some participants in the shootings. Despite the cessation of clashes, tensions between the two families are still high.
Of note, several districts in northern Syria witnessed internal clashes, in which Islamic and other factions participated, andresulted in many deaths and injuries.
